Comfort Zone

I'm glad i was born in 1998 because I live a life before the internet and witness how the evolvement of internet up until now. Remember the time where playing 'outdoor' is a thing. Not to mention the time playing outdoor without worrying about being kidnap. This reminds me a lot about the cold case of Nurin Jazlin... she was around my age when she was kidnapped. She's the whole reason I was so scared to play alone outside. I hope the criminal rot in hell! Idk how people have the stomach to take away someone else's baby, rapped, mutilate and left her in a bag...

Back to the point of this post.

I just saw ' How to lose a guy in 10 days'.  Last week I watched Princess Diaries. All those comforts comedian love stories that kinda keep my light up! It feels nice to experience these particular feelings again. The feelings of sentimental and excitement of the first kiss. You want to relive again those years back.

Time traveling seems impossible (without creating a black hole) for now.  You close your eyes and listen to MCR, Greenday. I totally remember listening to those growing up. It gives me comfort. I know that I can't dwell in the past but at least those memories stick around.

For those youngsters who can't relate, let me summarise something for you. It took about 20 years for the technology to escalate, it took away A LOT from yall. How do you keep your 'storage'? We begin with floppy disk to DVD (various types) to pendrive (various capacity) to hard-drive to whatever now we have. Internet was super expensive back in the days now using Celcom Xpax, RM1 you can use unlimited internet for 1 hour.

Catching up with the tech is a lot of work now. You want to be 'updated' all the time. You can get a lot online. The good and bad things.

I guess, at one point in life, you just need to pull the handbrake and breath. Life is not all about catching up with what's happening around you.

I guess it made me realize that it is okay to let the 5-year-old me take over myself some time. She deserves to relive the moment she believes in first kiss, prince charming, far far away kingdom, the neverland, catdog while eating her childhood candies.

There's no guideline on adulthood. Some people prefer to press pause and live in those moments. While some people keep on look forward, they forget the person they used to be.

The thing about growing up, you can't press pause for far too long. You have responsibilities to face. I guess a peak of those memories gives you the motivation to keep moving forward.
